I find that hard to believe mate. A quick browse on Autotrader shows there are 13 3.0s currently for sale on that site alone and there's prob a load more on eBay, Gumtree etc. On the reasonable assumption that the number for sale is only a small proportion of the total in use, it makes the 31 figure seem a bit unlikely, which in turn casts doubt on the 89.?🤔

I still find both those figures hard to believe. On some of our gatherings we have 15+

All numbers above inaccurate and the result of reading the data wrong. I have a table I’ll dig out I did recently - it’s in the order of 800 from memory.

Here's the data I put together a couple of months ago. The issue is that people only read one category. So @Chris Hunter your 'reliable' source is only reading line 1 'BMWZ3'. But you will find engine sizes suggesting it's a 3.0 in the other categories in the table, which all appear on the How Many Left website. When all categories are added up the answer is 894.

I did some verification of the data. The All Z3s data shows 22.9% of all cars manufactured still exist. The 3 litre data is consistent at 18.6% of all cars manufactured.

Obviously this is all RHD & UK data only.

I did the data as it iritates me when I see a trader advertising a 3.0 as one of only eg 89 left. It's false advertising and people pick up on it and start sharing round the internet as fact. As @Lee and @DrWong both say, the anecdotal evidence of 3.0s still around overwhelmingly suggests the eg 89 data is incorrect without even needing the table below.

And yes, there are other ways of interpreting the data such that there are even more 3.0s. The M54B30 is 2979cc so I've stuck strictly to the engine band that contains that number. However in @billz link the 111 quoted is actually 3000 to 3099cc. We don't know what these are. Some are likely to be 3.0s but some might equally be Z3Ms. I suspect in those days accuracy of engine size (as per all those different descriptions) were fairly fast and loose.

The mind boggles at some of the data in there. Fact or fiction?

3900cc to 3999cc1
4250cc to 4499cc1
4500cc to 4749cc1
9500cc to 9999cc2

If the 3000 to 3099cc band is also included there are a further 146 making 1040. But I do suspect some of those might be Z3Ms.

I use a site which I've put the link to below and I've put it set for BMW Z3 only (quite a few options). Z3 M Coupes and M Roadsters have their own lists if you go in the A-Z search menu.

As regards M Coupes up to end of 2021 there were 231 on the road and 261 SORN'd. I keep mine on the road all year round so one of the 231.

Mine is a 2.2i Sport Roadster so outside the main point of this thread, but what I have noticed lately is fewer and fewer Zs of any model on the roads. I drove 250 miles last Wednesday - Thames Valley to Eastbourne area and back, and I saw a Graduate style Alfa Spyder, two Caterham Seven type cars, but no Z3s at all. Of course this is one experience of one day, but to see two Se7ens and no Zeds is an interesting fact. As it happens this was first time I have driven mine since New Years Day for various reasons - pandemic mainly. Our Nissan Leaf gets used as default for local runs and there's been no possibility for longer ones under restrictions. Having a 'clinically very vulnerable' family member emphasises the restrictions somewhat.

...how many Helrot red 3.0ltr Z3 roadsters made/put on UK market...
To be fair Geoff, I think that level of detail about a specific model and colour will be buried very deep in BMW's production and distribution systems. I don't think that information will be in the public domain.

As mentioned above the level of detail you want won't be available on the site I posted.

However the level of detail is available, see the details I have for my car below.
..............................
It is a 805th car made of 821.

There were 4 cars made on 2000-06-19

The rarest option on your car is the option 502. It was installed on 255 out of 821 cars.

There were 35 1998-2000 BMW Z3 M Coupe (CM92) - RHD painted in Cosmos Black Metallic (303) with Black Nappa Leather (Q6SW) interior.
...................................
Those details I got years ago from a guy in the States via a Reddit post (I can't find any details of him unfortunately), think he must have been a BMW employee who had access to production figures. I got a full build spec for my car, the details above are just the last paragraph.
