How fast should the motor respond to the gas pedal?

Hi, when I push my gas pedal down, the engine is responding a bit delayed, like a half a second or a second or so. I thought that that was a Zed thing, because the Nissan I had before was responding much faster. The engine is running fine for the rest. If I need to take over a truck in the ranges uphill here, it revs easily up to 7000 rpm, but with a bit delay... I can't realy compare with another Zed, because there aren't a lot of them here in Napier, NZ...

Since I have it, it always has done it. it is a 2 liter automatic. Any suggestions? I was thinking about remapping to get it responding a bit faster, but you pay big money for remapping here, so I try to avoid that (like a true Dutchie :))

Hi, first of all I love the colour of the car and the hard top. I have a 2.2 auto and the engine is quiet responsive. I mean if I put my foot down it does what I expect it to and revs climb pretty quick. There is a very short delay as it kicks down to a lower gear but there is nothing to complain about.

You are welcome to come over and have a try in my car if you bring the HT! :)

ps: get the rubber antenna grommet from the dealer for about $5, get the magnetic stone guards from a guy off this site [from England] at a great price and look search on this site for the stainless steel door handles ans somewhere there is a thread with some really good ones at a great price too!

Thats a fast responce! I was lucky with the hardtop. Only a search command on trademe.co.nz for a year.... I will see if I can make a video clip tomorrow, depence when I wake up, I am on nightshift at the moment. I like to try your zed, but you're on the wrong side of the ditch :)
