How do I remove my auto gear knob ?

I want to remove my centre console sometime over the winter to generally tidy it up a bit but I will need to remove the gear knob. The auto gear knob has a switch in it so I'm thinking it doesn't just pull off.

Can anyone offer any pointers please ?

@Jack Ratt the knowledge just pulls up. It comes off suddenly so don't hit yourself on the chin. The switch just connects to a plunger which operates a switch in the base of the gear lever.

As Brian says it just pulls off. Once off, you can remove the sleeve which goes over the stick - be very careful when replacing this as it fits through some rather delicate positioning lugs in the shutter assembly.
