Somebody please inform the ministers.

They seem intent on creating much taxes for the diesels.

We don't do enough mileage to bother with a diesel anymore. 3 cars cover around 10000 between them

It isn't VW but Bosch promoting this. They're the ones funding the development.
Possibly short sighted on their part to use a VW considering the association with 'cheating'.

Would be interested to know how they do it 'using existing equipment' but isn't retro-fit on current cars.
Sounds like the manufacturers are putting pressure on Bosch so they can get more sales on future target busting new cars.

Lots of reasons why clean diesels are a serious option in many sectors but those don’t make good headlines. I’ve spent a fair amount of time collecting articles on the subject in the last week. Reducing NOx is only part of the story. It’s difficult to see how perceptions will change until they make significant reductions to emissions of the smallest particulate matter.

I remain very sceptical about this. This technology cannot be retro fitted to current cars, so they are "worthless?" Everyone would need to buy a new car with the technology fitted? Car sales go up. Not convinced, ............. by a long way.

Tony.

Got to agree Tony.
Those who run their car on a contract will benefit, but, the car will be worthless. Contract costs will go up, especially until cleaner diesel cars are available.
Those who opt to buy or have bought diesels will be taxed, have less money, a car worth a lot less and so less able to buy a new cleaner car. It’s self defeating.

All stick and no carrot....

Residuals on Diesels hit rock bottom a few weeks ago but they do seem to be recovering slightly again, or at least mine has so I am assuming it is the trend. Not that I care too much as I will just run it into the ground.

I spoke too soon. It’s dropped £300 in the last fortnight.
