I have a strange fascination with alcohol ,especially stuff that you manufacture yourself,I've had all sorts some good and some not so good.we had some great stuff In Romania last year distilled by our guides dad.This is our attempt at this years harvest.all we need now is a still in the woods ;)

After a couple of those I'll be skinny dipping in the hot tub, and no, I'm not posting the photo's =))
 
It's that time of year my wife starts eyeing up my vodka supply for her fruit Vodka she makes but saying that I have some amazing blueberry vodka at home which funny enough she won a prize at our village produce show but pointed out that was supposed to be hedgerow my dear.

Have you had a go at sloe gin lovely stuff.

I agree, Sloe gin delicious .someone gave me half a gallon of tequila and I don't really like it ,just trying to think of something to add to make it a little more palatable
 
Well plenty of time to experiment, make some nice Xmas fillers or prezzies in a nice flip bottle. I had over 12 litres at home last year but banned my wife from a few special vodka bottles. I'm glad she's not eyed up my single malts or port.

I had some great English wine from a Suffolk vineyard in 2000 and kept it as advised for 5 years plus was good stuff wish I had invested in more.
 
We're off sloe picking next weekend so our daughter and boyfriend will be making a few mixtures.

Home brew can be very rewarding, main thing to remember is to sterilise everything each time before use and rinse in clean water. Oh, and have lots of patience!

Sterilise,clean water that sounds a bit posh to me.i might wipe my spit off the top of the bottle before I pass it to you ;)
 
That's ok Hugh, that's well after the important bit has happened mate =)) if the alcohol has happened well it'll kill off any germs anyway.:D
