Hi and welcome from me in Scotland. :welcome:
As for your rack depending on what you want to spend your 2 options really are either a second hand rack or a reconditioned one ( with swap for old unit ) from the likes if euro car parts or equivalent.
Couple of members on here that regularly break zeds one of them may be able to help you.

I have tagged them so hopefully one of them will be along soon.

The pipes on top of the rack I'm fairly sure are only "air" pipes which allow air to pass between the two gaiters to prevent them blowing up as the rack moves. You should be able to replace those with rubber? Does it leak any oil?

Tony.

ps. By the way Peter, welcome from me near Lincoln. Where are you located please?

Hi Peter, just had a look on eBay for these (averaging around £160) but I think you could replace those pipes with copper pipe and reuse the original unions.

The air relief pipe on these is plastic, you can see it on top of the rack. I would certainly look at making new pipes before fitting a new rack, you could save a lot of money

Tony.

If these are the pipes you are having a problem with.........

I found this on an old thread on the forum.....so it may be worth seeing if this company still exists.

“Just an update, ready made pipes arrived from Power Steering Store situated between Coventry and Solihull complete with o-rings. I was happy with the inclusive price of £30 for both pipes, four seals and postage and they arrived the following day.
Fitted with only moderate swearing once I found it was much easier by taking out the two rack bolts and pulling that forward slightly.”

It refers to part number 4 below that is no longer available ref RealOEM

Hope this helps you...

If Recon people fit new pipes on a Recon rack there must be a supply somewhere. Good luck finding one Peter.
