I would like to say as a "lurker" pre purchase the information and enthusiasm you all have for these cars convinced me that it was the right choice over....

and the outside possibility of a Z4 (a fine car but I much prefer the styling of the Z3)
In may I purchased my 1.9 auto in atlanta blue....having looked at the other possible ragtops in my up to 4k price range the Z3 just won hands down, It is a hell of a lot of car for not much money and I now have the Z3 bug, I can't see a time when I wouldn't want to own one of these wonderful cars.
it is also able to carry 2 guitars and a pedal board in the boot and a medium sized amp on the passenger seat! and when not working i have found the golf clubs go in no problem..
It is my every day car and I found a "good-un"
down in norwich for just shy of 2.5k, two previous "mature" lady owners 46,000 on the clock and a FSH from a reputable local indie mechanic overall condition was great,only the hood microswitch and the windscreen washer pump have failed since and they were both (thanks to the forum) a cheap and easy fix.
so far I have done several trips to devon and back from surrey, as well as a good mix of urban, country and M-way driving and the car has not missed a beat and puts a grin on my face every time i put my key in the ignition, current mileage 52,000..thats 6k in the 4mths since purchase! and I am looking forward to a long and happy relationship with my Z..
