Hi Martint, welcome! Are you sure you have a throttle cable? some 2.0l Zeds of that era had electronic throttles, fly by wire.

Yea there's a cable there . Traced it whilst my son pressed the accelerometer. It comes through the bulk head round the back of the engine

I did mine on my 2.0l. Very easy job - should be 15 minutes at tops and makes a huge difference - the hardest part I found was getting the end of the cable back into the throttle. It is very easy when you can see it - I struggled for 20 mins before getting a little mirror (like a dentist mirror and easily available from halfords etc.) 10 seconds after being able to see it the connector it was on.

Thanks guys , got quoted £175 to replace it by BMW .so definitely doing it myself . However next question....where do I get the oil filer housing o rings without paying US shipping charges

Eurocarparts sell them mate. You can order just the seal I think.

Did you mean for the filter canister or the filter housing to engine block ?
