I had an MGBGT for 31 years and 310,00 miles until a few years ago, bought new (3 months after the Abingdon factory closed) in 1981, having previously also had a TD2 (1953) for 5 years and an MGA (1962). I always felt that the Z3 would be a good replacement but couldn't find one so had an MX5 Mk 2.5. I was right. The Z3 is so firm on the road, like having the best of the MGB back with all the benefits of modern motoring. Mine is a T reg. 1998, 1.9, Atlanta Blue with black leather trim, 81500 miles, still looking like new, twin cam with the wide body. It's the first car I have ever owned that was registered with a prefix number plate. Got the hardtop last week - lucky to find one at all, especially one that was the right colour, but that's another story, as well as the fitting kit which was fitted, including the electrics, by the guy I bought it off. Just the car to arrive at the cricket ground in. And anywhere else for that matter. Now already done over 3000 miles in 10 weeks. The car is enjoying being used - we had a conversation about it during the test drive. Just finished putting up the electric hoist and the hooks in the garage roof for the hardtop after finding and winning an original hardtop cover in great condition on Ebay. Now I can take the hardtop off and enjoy getting the vitamin D in again. Andrew.
