hi.
My name is Yossi and I live in Israel.
My motoring life started 5 years ago, when I bought Alfa 159 TBI, after few months found that it's not giving me the exiting i want. moved to Megane RS Cup edition. enjoyed it for 2 years and understood I need rear wheel drive car.. Say welcome to BMW Z3 1.9L . learn how to drift with it. Yes it can drift. got new Subaru BRZ and supercharged it (with a lot of another mods).
Now I want to give the Z3 more power , either supercharger or turbo it. another mods are in plan..
Thats all for now.

Hi Yossi, and welcome to the forum from the other side of the pond. I have a ' 96 1.9L myself. I think you seem to like a lot of power. I have been in this forum for a while and met many friends through it. There are many models of Z with different size engines. Most of the members of this forum live in the UK, although we have recently gained many members from many places around the world. I liked talking and joking with these members so much that last June, I traveled to the UK to meet many of them. They really treated me like a brother and I had a wonderful time there. While there, I rode in many of their Z's. I was very impressed with the power of some of them. I rode in a few that had 3.2 liter engines that developed over 300 horsepower. You might want to try a ride in one of these models before you modify your 1.9. I suggest this only because it may give you the acceleration you are looking for without all the expense and work you might have getting yours to do the same thing. Give one a try and I think you'll be VERY SURPRISED. If you get a chance, post some pictures of your car as the other members will surely want to see them. Frankie

Welcome Yossi!
Your post took us (the M44 massive) from ecstasy (finally another M44 against the huge wave of 2.8+ and in the same time an M44 drifter- Yes we can!:)) and agony (you already look for a powerful Zed!:().
Frankie is right: you can get a muscle Zed without spending money on the 1.9.
But I will keep it anyway, if I'll be you.;)
Enjoy the forum and the (friendly) jokes over here!:)
And pics please........

Thanks Guys,
Buying a 2.8L is one of the options, But.. there are only 3-5 of them here in Israel.. and the owners really love them :)..
I like to be in a building project.. I enjoyed the process with the BRZ ( someone said here that a lot of the members here are from UK.. my tuner for the BRZ was Mark from Abbey motorsport) .

Another option is to upgrade some parts in order to get some ponies ..

Instead of pictures I'm attaching link to a video for the Z3 when started to drift and link for drifting with the BRZ later on..

Shalom Yossi, from frigid mid northern Canada. You may want to check out @zedonist who is on a quest to get his 1.9 supersized. He's very knowledgable and a constant source for info on the 1.9. He's at replacing his flywheel with a single throw and has started working on the rear end getting ready for an E30 transplant then onto the motor. Also if you find a 2.8. @Ashbandicoot has just about completed a rebuild which he's detailed in a thread presently on the go. Good to have you with us, JIM

Thank you Jim,
Flywheel is really my next mod I'm thinking on.
Next month I'm traveling to California.. My shopping list is getting bigger.. when you buy something from US/EBAY the price at my home is exactly twice..
