My name is Juan Varela and I live in La Coruna, in the NorthWest of Spain (a lot of rain here).

I am 63 and I own a Z3 since august of the last year and this is my first roadster after years of dreaming to own one. Its a 2.8 1997 model, black with black and red interior. The car was needing some attention, mostly in the mecanical area and so I have invested some money in an Inspection II in the BMW dealer in my town, changed the clutch, tyres, brake pads, shock absorbers, correct the camber in the rear wheels with a kit ad oc, reinforced the rear subframe in the diff mount area, and some other minor things. So, the car now is in a quit good shape and handles great, and I expect I will enjoy it for some more years and let my grandsons a classic in heritage.

Here is a video with some pictures so that you can see the beauty of my roadster and some places of my country.

Welcome Juan, lovely looking zed you have there. You must have replaced the rear subframe looking at how those ///M wheels are sitting in the rear arches which I applaud you for doing.:D

Welcome to the forum Juan. Very nice car and I certainly was impressed with the pictures and music. You have us believing you teach computer classes at the local university. Well Done! I hope it doesn't rain too much there as I know you'll want to get as much time driving with the top down as possible. Frankie (from the other side of the pond.)

Hi oldcarman.

No I did not pay the model, she just do it for pleasure as she enjoy the car as I do. And so I am very lucky, and can spend some money in the Z3 with the aproval of the family budget controler.

Buna Zeti, I have been to Romania the last year with my wife. We rented a car in Otopeni airport and went 15 days to the regions of Moldova and Bucovina. Beutiful cities Iasi, Suceave and all small vilages, and wonderful painted monasteries. Very nice people too, and the food excelent. Larevedere.

You are a lucky man as I'm sure a lot of us are to have spouses that support our habits good or bad.
Sound like a wonderful trip and a beautiful country. I think most Canadians shy away from the Eastern European countries due to language differences, but having done several vacations in Western Europe I've found there is always a way around that if you are willing to work around those types of problems. Usually a willingness to at least try to communicate in the language of the country gets your message across. We never found a place where the locals weren't more than willing to accept us and assist and go out of their way to make us comfortable in their land. Much like I've found with everyone on this forum, we can all get along in this crazy world we live in.
This is probably something for a new thread but I've been thinking lately about the possability of some sort of exchange program where willing members could accept others into their home and share their culture. Would make for very inexpensive vacations and a way to meet new people and see the world. Anybody interested?? JIM

Hola Juan :welcome:

It was a great pleasure in more than one way watching your video. It's always great to see a nice Z3, but for me, it was also great to see pictures from the North of Spain. :thankyou:I've spent many summers in Asturias in a small town called Salamir and Soto de Luiña, but also bigger cities in the North of Spain; Avilés, Gijón, Oviedo, Santander and Bilbao. Unfortunately only been to A Coruña once.
I simply love Spain - and when I retire, I'd love to do it in Spain, for the climate, nature and the people....

I went there in my Range Rover - all the way from Denmark - Next time I go there, I'll keep an eye out for your Zed ;o)
