Good evening everyone

Despite my moniker, my name is Kenny (but you can call me Bob), 55 yrs old, and I'm the proud owner of a pearl white Z4 35iS, 2016 model. I've owned the car for almost a year and ever since, have always been curious as to whether there was an affiliated car club here in Scotland. I've never been a member of a car club/forum before, (in fact, I know nothing about cars), so I thought it might be an enjoyable experience meeting and driving with fellow Z3/4 drivers. They are a thing of beauty, and is after all why I bought this car. My favourite (looking) car had always been the Jaguar e-type and if I couldn't afford that, the poor man's version, the Triumph Spitfire. Thankfully, BMW came along with these roadsters, which for me, are every bit as beautiful.

I look forward to the chats, learning a thing or two about my car and of course, eventually meeting up with some of you on any road trips.

Slainte!

Hi Tony....thanks for the lovely welcome and greetings to Lincolnshire! Yeah, stunning I would say and as your pics testify. I have no clue about all the different models/specs but yours looks very similar to mine :thumbsup:I'd post a pic but I'm currently in the States and have no access to my hard drive so it's appearance is going to have to wait

welcome Kenny (or Bob)!
I agree that the E89 is a very beautiful car. Especially in either of the whites, it really shows off the swage lines to best effect IMO.

Your 35is is the 'top of the tree' model for an E89 and being a very late one (they ceased production in 2016) it will be quite rare too. The N54 engine in yours can be a demanding mistress but you probably know that by now, unless you have been very lucky! ;)

Thanks Pond. Yes, I knew it was beautiful, but the amount of passers by who've commented on it's looks has really took me by surprise. The best one was when driving through the Lake District and amongst a group of girl hikers, one shouted, "you classy b*stard!" :D But thanks for confirming it's an E89 as I wasn't sure ;)

The E89 is the only car I have driven for a very long time that has had nice comments aimed at it (that I have heard anyway).

We miss ours so much, I have just bought another one. I have NEVER had a car which I missed enough to replace it for the same (and have owned many many many cars). They get under your skin, for reasons I can't explain!

Wow....I never knew that. The salesroom where I bought it from though, Smiths Sports and Performance in Leicester, did say that it was rare and asked that if I ever sold it, to get in touch with them. It only had 20K on the clock and was (and still is) immaculate with one previous owner. Being sort of middle-aged, it has given me an extra incentive to remain as fit and healthy for as long as I can so that I can still be driving it when I'm 70!! :D And yes, the power is amazing.

Welcome aboard from me down in South Wales, you will find a good bunch on here for help with anything Z3 or Z4 related, its the first place I go to. Lucky as I am I have a 1.9 Z3 and a 2.5 Z4 E85 so like a few of us also frequent the Z4forum where you will find another bunch of good guys and girls for all things Z4.

Thanks Colb & Andy :)

@colb......yupp, having had a look around it looks like a great place. I love my road trips too, I'm taking the car over to Germany in January for a good work out, and it would be great to join up with any of the meets here in the UK as well which I'm sure must be huge fun.

Hi Bob and welcome from me in South Ayrshire :welcome:.

The forthcoming events section of the forum is the place to keep an eye out for events.
This time of year bit quiet but come spring there will be more going on.

I do 2 full weekend Scottish runs per year one spring and one Autumn details of the 2024 runs to be announced very soon.

Both these runs tend to be hugely popular and fill up pretty quickly.
Also a few short notice days out weather decent.

Stephen.
