I'm in the middle of doing my rear brake lines and flexi pipes, now I'm thinking about making this change to the roof drain valves, and engineering a solution to combat the roof motor problem 🤔
It's a terrible design and I noticed that the water runs into the sill covers as well, which can't be good 😐

Hi and welcome from me in Scotland :welcome:.

If its an e85 z4 you've got you will find threads on here about relocation of the roof motor to the boot.
Stephen.

Z4 best fix is to move the pump/motor unit to the boot where is cannot get drowned by blocked drain. Once done still keep an eye on the drain and rod it out to keep it clear going forward. if the drains block again and the cavity fills up and overflows its going to fall onto the left airbag satellite module that's behind the side trim and below the cavity. I removed the rubber one way valve caps from the lower drain tube as well to aid draining, you can see thrm looking up from underneath the sill.
