I was trying to replace broken clips on my door cards and due to me being a mechanical prodigy I managed to do more damage.

I have broken the door handle housing on drivers side(RL steering).

You see the two screws in your little picture. Normally you'd need to undo the bottom right one.

But it was already broken I think. I don't think that little philips screw is standard. Somebody has already 'fixed' it.

They are often broken though. And they cost an eye watering amount of money 2nd hand.

So I need basically a new door handle right?

Yeah. But as I said. They aint cheap. But occasionally you do see people selling door cards who haven't noticed the value.

It might be possible to do a temporary repair by getting a bit of bent tin and jamming it down the sides of the handle with a couple screws.

But keep your eye on the for sale section. Door cards do pop up when people change their interiors.

Also a couple of breakers with shed loads of stuff. Might be worth asking.

I built mine back up with fibre glass and a small piece of sheet metal. Works fine - just have to get creative!
