@Gremlin I have not been back to Salisbury for a long time now and I was just chatting about it the other day, as I would like to go and visit my old dad who lives at Elizabeth Court, he moved there quite a few years ago now from Netherhampton Road, West Harnham, where I grew up back in the day :)

You been over to Lizy Gardens yet I think it’s safe now.
Lizzy gardens, now there's a blast from the past. Lived in West Harnham about 45 years ago. Used to hang off the tree at the Old Mill pub on the Town Path into the river. Tree's gone now :(

Ha ha @Andy McDonnell, blast from the past, The Old Mill used to be my stomping ground back in the day, great for under age drinking at the time as the owner, Jerry Such, RIP, was a friend of mine.
Used to have New Years Eve party's there and end up dossing in one of the hotel rooms above the bar with one of the local birds ;)

We lived at 74 Netherhampton Road, West Harnham, the end of the Town Path runs right along the side of the house, fenced off, but my old dad used to hear me staggering back home with my mates and give me a right rollicking when I got in .... :D

Last time I had a look at the place, a few years ago now, it had turned into a right dump in my eyes, such a shame.

Went in there about 2 years ago it’s ok for a beer, but did not rate the menu. Not sure if it’s any different now I shall have to have a butchers next week while I’m off work for a few days.

No @Gremlin, its not what it was anymore, seems to have changed and had several different (owners?) over the years.
When my old friend owned it, RIP, he just had the bar/hotel, no restaurant, I can't even remember what that area was back than.
It was just a great local pub in those days and not so centered on pulling in the tourists
The odd time that I am back in Salisbury I don't bother going in there anymore, sad as it seems.
