Hi All,

In a bit of a predicament. Took the Zed out today, parked up and locked it with the blipper as usual
IMG_0998.JPG
Came back to the car, the blipper would not unlock or disarm the car, nothing for it but to unlock with key and start engine, eventually the alarm stopped but on opening door off it went again, stopped after a minute so I drove away, on the way home alarm went off again with the hazards flashing. Pressed the little red flashing light at the bottom of the centre console to see if that would do anything, it promptly fell apart.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks.

Is the blooper definitely working - maybe needs fresh batteries?

Had fresh batteries last year, been working fine, I'm just in the process of putting new ones in to try. I bought spares at when I changed them last year. Fingers crossed.

In your BMW service folder you should have a small yellow envelope containing a code. In your manual you will find instructions on how to disable the alarm but you need the led that. You said fell apart to do the procedure.

I found this can also reset the alarm for as I had this happen to me once but if your unlucky you will have to reprogram the alarm.

Or just go under the bonnet to the alarm siren and using the small round key you should have switch the alarm off

Done that. Looking at disarming the whole alarm now as I don't use it really that often.

Good news. Stripped the blipper and gave it a good clean, replaced the battery again and adjusted the contacts now its working again. Not bad for a 19 year old car. Good old Zed.

My s***'s custom!
Have the battery on the car checked. I had issues when my car was sat up too long and the alarm would sound whenever I locked it. It eventually got so bad it would start sounding at random as I was driving. Had it checked and it was not holding a charge. Got the issue fixed and preventing it again with a trickle charger. No issues since.

Hi there, car is always garaged and on maintenance charger, battery is 100%. Probably the blipper is past its best, as i posted earlier a good clean and its ok now. Thanks for taking time to reply.
