I had the top half of the intake manifold off of my 1998 M44 Z3 as part of work to replace cooling system components and fix leaking oil filter and timing chain gaskets. I started, gulp, two years ago, and then got busy with other projects. I've just about got the car back together, but there is one connector I cannot find the mate to. It is located on the left side of the engine compartment as shown in the photo, and has two leads, one brown and one yellow and red. I know, I should have labeled connectors, but I guess it seemed obvious at the time.

saying that you would have no reason to remove disa valve if it was onlly the top half of the inlet manifold... maybe it has never been connected... looks like you have cruise control too as you have additional thorttle cable.. so maybe its related to that...

The auxilliary air pump on my Z3 had a connection like that one and with yellow cable and brown. Does your car have the aux. air pump (smog pump) Rick or has it been removed?

Tony.

ps. You can see by the size of the cables that they're for something which draws a fair current such as a motor (in a pump).
