Afternoon peeps

Sorry, I'm not sure where to post this as still finding my way around. Saying that I'm sure we can have some banter about this ! My Z3 3.0l has a clunking sound when changing from 1st to 2nd gear. It's been in to my trusted garage and they have checked everything. My other half also went in the pit when they checked underneath and went through all the gears. (he is car savvy too) The clunking is coming from the gear box itself and might be a shaft clunking around. Anyway, I have 3 choices...Either leave it, or do a gear box rebuild (expensive option) or get a 2nd hand gear box. Is there a selling page on here as I cant find one ? Any hints or tips would be awesome...Thanks in advance all.

As stated I would check the diff brush first before changing the gearbox , also check the boot welds , what is the milage on your Zed?

Prop shaft centre bearing/support would be my first port of call. No chance that there's a b******* shaft in the gearbox IMHO.
