Hello everyone!
I was cleaning up an old hard drive when I found a picture of my first Z3, bought in 2008 and sold in 2010.
DSCF1311.JPG

She was a gorgeous 1.8i and her nickname was "La Topaz" which resulted from a double meaning ...the topazblau metallic color and also in Italia one refers to "topa" to indicate some a certain female area or a very nice looking chick...(sorry...I was young back then). Also she was a german import, so I liked to keep the german naming of the color instead of using "blu topazio"

This reminded me I haven't found a name for the new one, so I thought of playing a nice poll with this nice forum and find her one!

A bit of backstory of my current one, to help giving context to the suggestions:

She is a 2001 (same as the first) 2.2i dutch Sport Line, and I found her this year from a Dealer nearby Rotterdam, her color is Oxford green and she doesn't have a name yet.
So fare we shared about 3000km together last summer with a trip to Tuscany and she seemed to like it.

What should I name her...?

Me and the kids call ours (5 Z3s in different states...) names using the 3 letters (in order) found on UK plates. But I notice yours has 3 letters too.

PLJ is a bit of a challenge though. I think I'd have to cheat and change the order - Jalapeno - well both are green :)

By the way. You said your car liked the journey? Does the car talk to you and tell you? That's special. Only one of my 5 Z3s talks to me - Trudy. She lives with my girlfriend in Wales.

She only started talking when I moved her from my house in Swindon to Swansea after rebuilding her. Trudy started talking with a Welsh accent immediately so I could tell how much she enjoyed being there.

My other half's 2 dogs talk to me too. Although the strange thing is they all do it in the same voice and accent.

Go to go now. My appointment with the men in white coats is soon now :)

I am assuming if she doesn't leave me stranded on the side of the road she's enjoying the ride...Last summer luckily she did behave (only a check engine light with no symptoms), even during a monster queue before the Gotthard tunnel with 32C and lots, lots of other cars pulling out with steamy radiators (you know how the cooling system is on the Z3...)

I like Jalapeno, I had in mind also Esmeralda (Emerald...green...) but I'm curious to see what comes out. :D

How about the ' Jollzee green giant '? Or Emma, short for Emerald

Esmeralda works for me to.
The wife hated it...:sorry:...back to the drawing board.
I'd like it to be a female name, because in my eyes it's a "she" (in Italian language the car is a female noun)
I like Emma, but I think I'd keep it for someone more ...human so I don't want to use it for a car.

Stella is a nice name indeed...I'll think about it. So far though despite the very brilliant suggestions there is no name that absolutely "clicked"...so keep it coming!

I just had an inspiration. :woot:

I think I'll name her Audrey, in hommage of Audrey Hepburn

1. She is my all-time favourite actress and, for me, one of the most graceful and beautiful women ever existed, the Z3 has the same place when it comes to cars in my heart

2. Like the actress, my Z3 with his oxford green, is very elegant, graceful and timeless

3. Audrey Hepburn has Dutch origins ;), just like my Z'tje.

What do you guys think? Does Audrey sound good?
