I'm looking for a harness for a new head unit to fit to a 2002 car. Looking at ebay some descriptions say fits all models, some up to 2001, some don't specify.

Also, some say they don't work with an active subwoofer but how do I know if I have one? The centre console has a speaker rather than storage but can't see a sub.

Will this do the job?

Assuming it is as built, I believe the speaker in the storage box is the sub.

Are the connectors on head units all the same nowadays? Not fitted a new one in years and I'm thinking about upgrading my system.

As far as I'm aware the harness from the main loom to the stereo head unit is the same for all Z3 models, and E36 models.

The part where it varies is when the audio cables go to a separate amp before going to the speakers.
