I have a load of mp3 music files on my mobile android phone and I have the choice of connecting to my car's Kenwood head unit by either aux cable from phones headphone socket or by bluetooth. However, sometimes the Bluetooth connection plays up so I resort to the aux cable which is fine.. but if my phone is on charge there is a load of electrical interference noise?? Would it be possible to fit some kind of suppressor to the cigarette lighter to prevent this?

You can always find a filter that they say will filter this or that out, problem is that's not always the end result.

I found that cheap home (110 or 220 V) aftermarket chargers will generate noise and factory chargers are much more quiet.
You might want to see if that is the case here before you go cutting into your harness.

If your head unit has a USB socket why not copy your music from your mobile to a USB memory stick.
This USB is very short and doesn't get in your way.

I do that with my alpine, the only issue for me is, its much harder to find what you want to play on the memory stick than in my phone.

Use my iPod from my head unit. Not "IT" enough for anything else, works well with as many tracks as I want, especially good for long drives.

I personally wouldn't go bigger than 2gb memory stick as you will find yourself listening to a relatively small selection of what's on it unless you regularly fast forward tracks to get through them. Even just sticking on the PC and refreshing does the trick.

I have a 16gb memory stick in my alpine and it has a lead from the back that goes to the glove box so its out the way then I have my music in separate folders eg, 60's 70's 80's abba or meatloaf ect then I just choose what I want or just choose random and it pics from all folders and there is also search from artist or genre ect, In my old MX5 I brought another usb radio that could not see folders and had the usb in the front and although it was ok just the lack of the 2 features made me dislike what was otherwise a good unit.

My memory stick has loads of music on it ( I'm told some of it' is ok ) when i park up and lock the car it holds the track so there is no starting at the beginning

Neither does mine, but they never play the whole stick even on random play. I dint know why it just does.
