Had a problem for some time with an annoying metallic chinking rattly noise rear OS wheel which after extensive investigations turned out to be the little linkage where the cable comes into the drum. You hear it when the car goes over any bump or pot hole, but when you apply the handbrake a little it disappears. I do have a new linkage to put on but I've now decided to overhaul the whole handbrake mechanism.. new shoes and pins.. and new cables etc.

Just looking for a heads up on how difficult it is to replace the cables? There isn't much room to work under the handbrake gaiter but I'd be interested to hear from anyone that's done the job as I'm not that mechanically minded?

Many thanks in advance

Alan

I did a write up with pictures about 2 1/2 years ago Alan when I changed them on my Z3 . It's on here somewhere. Easy job.
