Just made the decision to find a Z3. I have been an MG owner for many years. Still have MGA and several MGBs. I have decided to move up the chain a little. Love the look of the Z3. I do have a question. I am looking at a couple of cars. One is a 2000 with M package. I have not been able to find information on what that means. Can someone direct me to the best place to get info on options by year. Thanks. Look forward to owning a Z3.

Mike

Hello and welcome to the forum. You can research your VIN number to see the cars spec when it left the factory

Hi Mike, welcome from me near Lincoln UK. Where are you located please? The vin checker will only tell you which ok too s were on your car when it was made, not a list of all options available. You need to find a copy of the dealer catalogue.

Tony.

Welcome to the forum from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. I just sold one of my Zs to a lady from very near Buffalo, NY. I'm meeting her in Albany, with the car on my way up to Lake George on Saturday. Might be visiting a friend who lives near Little Falls,(Mohawk) NY....Frankie

Well my plans to look at a couple of Z3 this weekend did not happen. Rescheduling for next weekend. Here is what I know from phone calls and correspondence. Any advice on what to look for or consider would be appreciated. One of them is a 1999 2.5 black with black interior with well under 20K miles. It has a hard top and the original tires. One owner, but no service records. Owned by a woman who rarely drove it. The other is a 1997 2.8 with less than 30K miles. It is red with a tan interior. One Owner. Some service records. Asking prices are pretty close. Is there a significant performance difference between the 2.5 and 2.8?

We didn't get the 2.5 in the UK as a Z3 option. We have a E36 323i with that engine though, and it is very good too.
