I agree with Tim yet I bought my car from an eBay ad that I'd contacted the seller about. It expired and wasn't relisted so I got hold of the seller and basically got to know him through messaging back and forth. When I felt comfortable with the condition of the car I bought it sight unseen and had it shipped from the UK TO Canada. Everything was done using my iPhone and I never spoke to a single person throughout the delivery to Canada. The car was even better than anticipated and only required tires, which I knew, and a brake light bulb to pass our safety. So you take your chances buying sight unseen. Good luck!! JIM

At the distance you were working from that's a fair point Jim, but if it's only 100 miles or so you wouldn't, would you?

Tony.

Hi guys another new member just signed up. I am in Wolverhampton and I have had porsche 924`s a 944 ,VW campers and an mgf in the past as hobbies but now looking at a z3. The Porsches were great cars to own and drive but too small for kids so I got myself a camper. Now the kids are older I decided to go back to a 2 seater but a convertable. I bought an mgf but too small and suspension a bit hard so z3 is next on the list. Any tips on what to look for? What are the problems to watch and which engine is best to go for? It's a toy not my main car so I want to enjoy it when I get it out. Any one know of a good one for sale?
Hi and welcome to the forum.. It depends on what your after and how fat your wallet is I guess, I do know of a nice MOT failure 2.8 Z3 (only a broken spring) that's just begging to be rescued its in fair condition and the owner just has to many projects on the go and its not far from you I think if that's the sort of thing your thinking of feel free to PM me and I'll pass on the details.
Cheers
N
