Owned my 97 Z3 Roadster now for 2 months, only 68,000 miles on it too, blew a belt 2 weeks ago, when replacing we noticed the cruise control was unplugged, while taking it out to watch water temp I set the cruise, it works until you go to stop, didn't disengage from cruise. Yikes! Lol Got it back home and unplugged it but no change, in park the rpms went way up, never below 2,000 rpm. I replaced the air idle hose that was cracked severely I noticed. Now the car starts but won't idle/stay running at all. I unplugged Map Sensor, no difference. Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated, it's been 2 weeks since I drove the old girl

Hi Stuart and :welcome: to the forum from me too in Stafford, England. You need to get a code reader on it.

I'm no expert. But would the idle control valve be something to look at? Worth buying a reader to pin down the issue, really handy and cheap
