Three months with Z.
let me start by saying that once again I have to thank all of you for the warm welcome and priceless knowledge you so kindly offered.
just a recap of the Z story so far.
this car was the best decision I gave ever made in my car nut career.
yes. It is an underpowered 1.9, with just 118hp 20 years old cheap (well not so cheap) roadster.
yes. I could do better and have a Z4 or a boxster for this amount of money.
yes. I am an old fart who wants to feel the air while driving.
no, I never was a person that had a bigger bite from what he could chew, and no I am not someone who wanted to be defined by his car nor ever wanted redefine myself from what I actually am.
a middle aged, middle class, average nobody who finds pleasure in simple things.
picked the Z because it is semi-analogue. Meaning that it still has all the modern but not sophisticated electronics that make life easier, but still has a manual soft top, a manual shifter, a steering wheel that connects to the axle with gears and hydraulics, an easy to maintain engine and is cheap to fix.
picked the Z because after many near death experiences during my younger years, I finally accepted that I am not Colin McRae nor will I ever be.
picked the Z because I can reach its limits before mine and picked the Z because, to me, it is THE most good looking roadster that ever existed. And the Coupe (that I will never have) is a work of art (and lucky is whoever has one).
is it a keeper? yes it is. i will keep it as long as I can drive, and maybe some more.
so, was it what I expected it to be? Absolutely.
cheers everyone and once again thank you all.
