It is amazing how few pictures I have of the cars at this point. I'll shoot a couple of pictures of the 2.5i and the M tomorrow as the weather will be warm enough to bring them out for a wash.

Here is a shot of the 1.9 DASC I took last year at the north end of the Golden Chain Highway (SR49) in California.

Welcome to the Forum, Steve, glad you found us.:)

I wonder what you would call so many Zeds? A Flock? A Herd? Perhaps A Pride! Yes that fits the bill!!!

Please explain the engine options in the States, I don't believe they ever produced a 2.5 for the European Market:confused: We had 1.8s, 1.9s, both 4 pots, 2Ltr, 2.2s, 2.8s, 3Ltr and of course the 3.2Ltr ///Ms 6 pots.

Mike & Sandy
The 2.5i is a smaller displacement version of the M54 3.0 produced in 2001 and 2002. I purchased that car new in 2001 and have driven it 229,000 miles.

I'd love to be sitting at that intersection trying to decide, on a whim, which way to go, especially in that car. Frankie

We headed south driving the entire length of Highway 49 to Oakhurst. 318 miles and more curves then you can count. We met up with a few other Z owners who joined us along the way.

OOOOH! How nice. What a drive. How'd you meet these other guys with the zs, already know them or from another forum? Frankie

I would be interested in any DASC items you might want to sell, including the full kit?

There are groups all over the country. The people that joined me on this trip were all members of Bay Area Z out of Northern California.

Here is a photo of the 1998 M and the 2001 2.5i.

Looked around for a hardtop. Could have used one this past winter. Not easy to come by. Frankie

Frankie, pick one up in UK while you're there and ship it home. Likely cheaper than NA. I know mine was and I put it on the car so only paid to ship it within UK. Ships to Canada free on the car with all the other stuff I've bought.

Make sure you have the prep install either on your car already or you'll spend a fortune finding one. Also the fittings for the top itself. Try to buy it all together if possible. The alternative prep kit is £250 with originals going as high as £1999. Took me a month and a half to find the right deal (99£) and it was more luck than anything as I bought it 6 min after the ad was placed.
You may even meet someone willing to do you a deal over a few pints over the pond.Wish I was going with you!!

He can't line them up! He'd be blocking my driveway/ Welcome, Steve, from New Jersey. Sounds like a super collection. We're all looking forward to seeing them. We all might be a bit jealous of you. You'll be happy here as there are a great bunch of guys here. A lot of good knowledge to be found. No matter which car you might have a question about, several members have the same model and will share their experience. I would think, though, with the collection you have your knowledge base must be considerable already. We're glad to have you with us. Frankie
Hi Frankie, forgive my high jacking here but t-tony is selling a hardtop in the for sale section. I've let him know you're looking so watch for a possible PM. Would have done that but haven't figured it out yet!! JIM

Hi Steve, I love a red Zed. My Son-in-Law and his brother are heading your way soon as they are Green Bay Packers fans and are coming over to see a game.

Tony.

Quite nostalgic looking at these old episodes, I was brought up on Dixon of Dock Green, then Z Cars followed by Softly Softly, all of these probably inspired me to join a Force when I was 21, all a bit different in 1974 then but enjoyed a total of 43 years service in different parts of the Country, best days were the 70's in Birmingham for me.
