Hi All,

Just dropping a wee Hya, as I've been waiting since 10th Jan to get on .net, still no reply despite a follow up email. X(
Only discovered this site tonight and may be asking a few questions as I'm looking for a Z3MR. Bike currently for sale on Pistonheads, so fingers crossed. Once it goes, I'm shopping.! Got my eye on a couple at the mo.
Had a few BMW over the years, mainly 330/530 diesels and M3's. Itchin now for the Z though instead of the bike. My Dad has a 2.8, and loves it.

Anyway, a virtual pint to you all, and congrats on the site. :ymapplause:

Michael.

Hi Michael,

Big warm welcome to zorg and I know you will get all the support/info you need from everyone here. There are many people with vast amounts of knowledge (not all Z related :D) who, I am sure, will help you find the perfect M in time for the zed fest in July ;)

A big welcome from me too, you have certainly found the right place to find all the info you need all you need to do is ask.

What ///M are you thinking of in terms of age, engine etc. If you don't already know ther is a very good thread in here already that will give you some good pointers;

And a big welcome from me at the far "end" as well Big Slippy. the one thing you can be sure of on this site is plenty of reading material. They really are a great bunch and all so active and positive you are sure to enjoy both the hunt for your "M" and also virtual socialising.

Thanks for the welcomes guys.
I'm near Lanark, South lanarkshire. So quite handy for the central belt. Also, not scared of the miles, bought my Landrover from Milton Keynes and Duke from Southampton!

I am looking to spend no more than 10k for the right car. got my eye on 2 extremes though. an Imola red with S50 with 43k miles and standard on pistonheads that even though it looks a good one, IMHO is overpriced slightly and had to be relisted.
The other extreme is a 2001 S50 Estoril 69k miles with many mods. It was previously on ebay before Xmas, didn't sell and now on MR911.co.uk/pistonheads. There was a thread about it on .net with divided opinion. Problem is, I know if I buy a standard one it wont stay std for long. So, I keep going back to the 2nd one. the old ebay ad gave good detail on the work and looks good value for the money spent.
I prefer Imola over Estoril though. If anyone knows anything good or bad about the 2 cars, any info or background would be much appreciated.

Just need to shift the bike !

BS.

Hi Mate. Had a look at the estoril on mr911, hate the wheels , hate the spoiler and hate the price. so unless you can get it for £7750 dont bother. The imola red is nice but two things worry me is firstly he has put 16000 miles on it in a short time, and we dont know how it was treated when this was being done, and i think the price is very high, even for that mileage. Jonttt has a class one so i think he could chip in and tell you what he thinks its worth. Worth waiting mate you will, as i and many others did, get a cracker. ;) oh and estoril IS the best colour :coolsteer)

Paul,
I have a 'like' for your 'hates' but agree the styling looks almost cartoon like, with 19's that should be 18's etc, etc. But I thought good work and good money spend underneath, along with history etc made it worthy for the right price and the looks could be taylored to my taste.
