Well... I am now a Z3 owner (less than 24hrs) 30 miles covered, mostly in the rain!
A few hood leaks, but nothing i can’t live with.
More concerned with the structural state of the car, i can see a bit of rust behind the sills (don’t mind sill rust, I’ve had plenty of advice on this forum). I was planning to MoT on October 1st (MoT due on 30th Oct), but i think I’m going to leave it until around the 23rd. That way i should get a cheap month of Z3 motoring whatever happens at MoT time.
I guess the etiquette is to now post on the relevant forum with my questions... so thanks & goodbye to the introducing sub-forum!
P.s. the Generous donor now has a 6 yr old Z4 in black!

Picking up a 2001 1.9i Z3 next weekend. Free, 130K miles but just 6 weeks left on MoT.

Plan is to insure and tax 'til the MoT, and then evaluate how much it's going to cost for a year's motoring.
Nothing major wrong, except that interior is a bit tired, hood leaks a bit, rear window is discoloured/slightly cracked, and there's a patch of rust on the outer drivers side sill. From many angles it looks great!

I'll be back with questions in a few weeks.
in the meantime - is there a user guide that covers the 2001/1.9 ? i can only find the bigger engined variants here.
