Good for sending up chimneys as well. Don’t you just love auto correct.@Daz7401, thats all well and good if you have a small minor to get in the gap, if you do go down that road don't let the neigbours see and report you for mis treatment of the said minor!!
Oh dear, it’s definitely one of those days.If I was you I would edit the touch out and insert torch or flashlight
Tony , The temperature selection dial on mine will only rotate from full cold to just after the 12-0-clock position , cold and hot air will come out of the vents. I thinking the heater flap cable needs disconnecting ; the flap opened fully ; the heater control set to max hot and cable reconnecting. Does this idea hold any water? Most likely it’s the control cable for the flaps in the heater box which need adjustment.
Tony.
You may find that it's a clip holding the cable outer gone missing/slipped, not too unusual with cars of a certain age. This bit of RealOem may help.Tony , The temperature selection dial on mine will only rotate from full cold to just after the 12-0-clock position , cold and hot air will come out of the vents. It does Paul. Back when I was a lad and all heaters worked this way usually you could see the flap levers on the outside of the heater box and observe what was happening. Trial and error usually prevailedTony , The temperature selection dial on mine will only rotate from full cold to just after the 12-0-clock position , cold and hot air will come out of the vents. This is the rear of the switch pack .
The white, green and red levers are what the cables attach to.
The levers have a pin inserted into the track on switch rear the air direction can be turned full circle hot/cold can't.
The white lever is the hot / cold
The red and green operate together on slightly different cams Red one side green on the other.

The cables have non adjustable colour coded clips View attachment 239871
That fit in the 3 square holes in the bottom of the switch pack the cable ends fit in their respective holes on lever ends View attachment 239873
So if the centre console was out this is what you would see View attachment 239875
Now position wise the 3 cables run to the hot/ cold ( white) and windscreen/ centre vent (red) both go to driver side of heater box View attachment 239877
As you can see the cable are securely to the box with spring clips ( one missing on this could also be your issue) .
The 3rd cable ( green) footwell goes to let of white sticker on picture above View attachment 239879
Again spring clip holding cables on.
Hope this helps a bit as to where it all goes .
Stephen.
Hope it is that easy
