Evening

In the process of retrofitting heated prefacelift seats into a facelift car

Seats are in and moving electrically and not throwing any codes so all good so far. Relay and switches likewise

I have the electrical schematics so can figure out which wires will need to be spliced from the plug under each seat- no worries

BUT

I cant figure out the seat wiring, they are different to the Z4 heated

See photo- there are 4 or 5 wires leading to the pads, both the same on each seat- one set red/yellow and one set red- 4 wires from the connector which i am assuming are + and - to the pads?

Am I right to think that? Or is it + red/yellow and - red

Anyone had experience of this at all

Attached are the wiring diagrams I am using for ref

Cheers

Stuart

Proceed with caution. All is not as it seems.

I have recently fitted facelift seats to a pre-facelift car and had to sort this out. Use a multimeter to confirm the elements. Elements are 5 ohms by memory.

You'll likely find that the red/yellow wires are for one element and the red wires are for the other element. Not the logical red/yellow = positive and red = negative.
