Hello everyone,

I finally got around to fitting the hardtop I bought for my car last Summer. It's cured the leaks. No water ingress in the recent torential rain. :)

Despite all of the hardtop wiring and connectors being present the rear screen does not demist when the button is pushed. The button does light up though :) Does the rear screen need a relay? My logical brain does seem to think that it should. My car was not supplied with a hard top so perhaps no relay was originally fitted? Does anybody know if a relay will need to be fitted and if so, what type and where will it go?

Cheers.

Andy.

Go to the "Resources" section of this forum and find the wiring diagrams for your car. They will tell you that it needs a relay and in the back are location diagrams.

The relay is on the fuse box under the bonnet/hood. Most Z3's seem to come out of the factory with it already fitted.
