Heated rear window heated switch

Could someone tell me if the heated rear window switch illuminates when the hardtop is not on the car please. Clearly the heater doesn't come on, but wondering if the switch is otherwise illuminated to come on with the interior lights?

Yes it does come on with the lights

At the rear of the centre console there is a 3 switch panel.



If you have no switches there you might have a coin compartment. Take this off and underneath is a metal bracket. The wiring for the heated rear window switch is wrapped in foam and tapped to the metal bracket.

It tapped up tightly and takes a bit of persistence to get out.

There are 2 types of switch depending on if you have a Prefacelift or Facelift.

They both have different connections so you will need the correct switch.

The switch I need is 61311376444 (prefacelift). Am seeking a good used one for under £50. Might have to wait a while as they seem to sell for nearer £100.

They come up from time to time, but it's luck, and a wait. I bought mine from ECS Tuning in the USA, when they offered a discount and the pound was doing better Vs the dollar.

Switch obtained for fair price from @Jjim last week, fitted this morning in blank on console.

Blank hole on LHS is too small for HRW switch. Needs to be same size as A/C switch on the RHS.
A bit of filing sorted this.

Found plug at LHS rear of centre console, fitted switch to it and all works as intended.
No more "blanks" - I dislike "blanks" as they show that options are missing. Sad I know, but there we are.
