Headlight upgrade

Going to post this here as the m section is pretty dead. I have an e85 m with the xenon lights. They are not great. Just got home after driving the z3 which has Toshiba HIR (not HID) bulbs high and low a long with vosla 65w h7 fogs. That's 6000 lumens per side. They are much better than the Xeons in the Z4.

I know it's not a stock for stock comparison but with a 10 year age advantage I expected the 4 to be better. I drive a lot at night.

What are my options?

Do your Z3 headlights have the chrome trim around the reflectors?
If you do have the chrome trim, have the bulbs in the Z3 caused any yellowing or discolouration of the lens?

Don't remember on the rings. Will take a look. No discolored lenses. That's the best thing about HIR. Safe from that point of view.

Toshiba are better then these but v hard to get. I use the 65 watt 9011 in high and low beam

Found out half the problem. My lights seem to be xenon low beam and halogen high beam except the high beams don't come on...i have had this thing a week...

Maybe I am wrong. I am now reading that the inside lights with the h7 globes are "flash to pass" and only on when you flash someone. This can't be right surely?

Now I read the inner lights are for show? Model year 2008
