well I now know why I have a miss fire for a few seconds on start up after she has stood for the night. Got a slight leak on the head on number one cylinder. Plus a little leak coming from just above temperature sender unit on head seam. So off it will come this week off for a pressure test and crack test and if ok skimmed. They are going to check valves and guides while they have the head for me. So I’m going to be a busy bee next week. Already got head gasket set along with new head bolts so fingers crossed it’s not got a crack in it.

Good luck, hope that everything works out. I've been there with my 2.8, spent nearly £1k doing it myself including new radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses etc then ended up fitting another engine. Cost me best part of £2.5k in total but my car has sentimental value and so there was no question I was getting it sorted.

Yes thanks, I’ve already changed everything like radiator and all the hoses water pump thermostat and flushed it all out now. Engine wise it’s the only issue there is. It uses no oil at all between services and runs nice and quiet, so I’m just hoping that the head is not cracked. But like you I have spent so much money on the car I would put the money into getting it right. I think with everything I’ve done on the car including the £2,500 the car was, in total I’ve spent around £10,000 to £11,000 got all the bills out for everything the other night and added them up scary lol.

I will do my best, I usually start of taking pictures of the work I do then my hands get so oily I tend to give up. I keep thinking about doing a write up on the project from purchasing the car up to just, as I’ve that many pictures of the work I’ve carried out.
