My Z3 has the hardtop fitting kit installed, it was there when I bought it. I would like to remove it but unsure how. Does anyone have a set of instructions??
Many thanks
J

From what I recall it's a relatively easy process until it comes to removing the bolts near the electric roof ram - I ended up having to borrow a socket set that was small enough to fit over the bolt but in between the plastic trim

theres 3 bolts either side if I remember rightly on the bracket and you also have to undo the bolt hidden under the seal of the B post to help removal. See the instructions for fitting in the knowledge base and uninstallation is the reverse of it. There is also a little wiring loom on the passenger side that taps into the elcetric roof (if you have one) and connects to the heated switch button

Well, I’m not sure on all the parts needed.
I don’t have any screws the might be need to fix the front to the windscreen and I don’t have a blanking plate for the window demister switch. So might leave the switch in place and just remove the brackets

The "screws" to fix the hardtop to the front are torx M8x18, which are not easy to find, but M8x20 work just fine. They also don't need to be tapered like the original BMW ones...

If you want to sell the switch for the rear window (demister) I will gladly provide you with a blanking plate. 😉
