When I found out, after purchasing my HT, that the PO was wrong and there was no fitting kit in my car I bid on countless numbers of auctions. Of course each went WAY over what I could afford with even the aftermarket ones at £250 being outrageous as far as I was concerned. Most sold for ££800 And as high as £1995. I Lucked out and hit a six min old BIN auction for £99. Plus shipping and the PO and his son installed them for me. I thought I'd have to resell the top but as I said I was lucky! JIM

Very lucky Jim. If you come across anymore you could make a small profit on one?

It's crazy that the top costs way less than the fittings even the aftermarket. I don't see where the value is after actually seeing a set. I still check every day because I know Frankie wants a HT, unless he's changed his mind. Did you ever sell yours?? Turns out I need the inserts which I've never seen come up for auction. I quite like the look without them and they'd likely just catch snow and cause rusting. JIM

Yes Jim, I've sold my hard top. It was probably a little bit bigger project than I could manage these days. But it has provided me with a head start on saving up for a new green soft top, so I'm happy at that.

Tony.

What? The 'strips' on both sides of the hardtop? It has probably had a re-spray at some point in its life.
And it can't rust Jim, its fiberglass. Its a car roof Jim but not as we know it....;)

Good catch HT, wanted to see who was awake out there. Yes it did get a respray at some point in it's life and is not the correct colour for my car but the price was right. Just testing your memories' from past posts. JIM
