TIP!!
I purchased a hard top with fitting kit & cover a couple of months ago.
It did not come with the BMW gauges or spanners etc. just the fitting brackets, torx driver and bag.

I have just today decided to adjust the hard top roof clamps as I couldn't get one side to close up properly when I put the roof on, and it sort of rattled a bit on bumps.

Here is my method of sorting it out without spending money on fancy BMW tools - I hope it is of use. (I was only my own outside the house when I did this).

So I simply took off the roof, (up and over) turned it upside down on the boot (on a blanket).
I then unscrewed the two retaining screws on the plastic cover where the clamp fitting is, this gave me access to the 24mm locking nut.
I loosened this locking nut which then allowed me to turn the castleated nut underneath by hand without the special tool.
I then looked at clamp on the other side (the one that fitted fine) and counted the visible thread lines above the nut, and adjusted the other side to match.
I then locked everything back down & replaced the plastic cover.
Refitted roof - perfect fit now!

Not über technical I'm afraid but it will make perfect sense when you do it.

Love this info, as just posted that I was looking for the C spanner to adjust the hard top
but reading the info I won’t bother thank you.
