After seeing reports on the early evening news about an accident on a bike Shirl tells me that Guy Martin had reportedly broken his back . He's been in surgery this evening. A nasty accident, hope he's going to be ok, a fellow yellow belly. Get well soon Guy.

To be honest, the other side of the Trent is Notts, but my old fella was a Yorkie, from Leeds originally, a fact I never knew till after he'd died.

It would have been much worse if they hadn't flattened out the corner by removing the hedge/wall or what ever used to be there. Road racing is really dangerous when compared to Moto GP.

Just watched the incident and hope Guy is going to be OK. A broken sternum, ribs and a few vertebrae is massive "let off" in my view.

He's used up one of his "favours" with that one that's for sure.

I broke 3 ribs in a 20mph bike crash and I was in agony for weeks, so Guy's going to be sore after that one.

He certainly won't be back at work on Monday, as he was quoted as saying last night.

On Look North tonight they announced that Guy Martin has checked himself out of hospital declaring he feels " right enough" to go home. A tough cookie me thinks. Get back to heath soon mate.
