Gutted today

Bl..dy hell Trev; just caught this thread. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hope the authorities throw the book at these r’soles. As many have mentioned, these little cars have robust engines and hopefully yours has not sustained any damage. If you insurance company is worth it’s salt, it will make sure your car is in good shape on it’s return. Not much I can do from the east coast to help, but if you think of anything that I might be able to assist you with, just let me know.

Just seen this Trev, really sorry to read it. I don't think they will have damaged the engine. I've hit the limiter quite a few times on my 2.2 over the years:whistle:
 
Regards the limiter, does it kick in at lower revs when the engine is cold, and increase when up to temp ?
I know mine does but thats a totally different mota.
 
A couple of worthless dumbasses , glad they got caught . I also hope the get the most severe punishment allowed by law.

Just a little extra , I purchased some security cameras a couple years ago , best investment Ive made in quite a while . Youd be suprised what goes on around your place at three or four in the morning . Everything goes straight to my phone .
 
Thanks everyone for your input, The insurance company is collecting from the Police holding yard today to have it assessed.
They have advised that all will hinge on the assessed repairs. Ive asked that a BMW trained tech do the mechanical evaluation.... It was apparently driven through a roundabout... thats not around but through so I its possible it will have front end suspension damage as well.
Front bumper may have issues. I'll keep you updated as I get further news.

I have cameras in play already and I have access via the phone but due to movement of plants etc with the wind, we turned off the motion detection.
I do have great footage of the sh*theads forcing the front window into the house and the wondering through and then leaving the premises with the car.
