Looks like a bargain to me if it checks out with no major faults. I'm sure there are potential 2.8 buyers on here with limited funds so thought it might be useful to post.

Probably priced down in part due to bonnet. I have a near mint Artic Silver bonnet (£250) if anyone buys this.

Chrome bonnet vents that you could get £100-£125 for. I have Artic Silver bonnet vents (£25 pr) if you do that :)

Sorry, sounds like a sales pitch for my spares. But this looks like a real bargain and would be looking closer myself if I had space/money.

Yeah they are the standard fit alloys I'd love to get hold of if I could find a 17" set but they are quite hard to come by.

Pictures always make a car look better. But at that price you can have a very tidy car once you've sorted all the niggles.

Beware with the bonnet though, the velvet we bought had the same damage and it ripped out both catch mechanisms.

Yeps those were standard fit on 2.8 - that’s what mine looked like long ago before I finished it off properly :)
They are a very light wheel for OEM.

There are no 17 inch version of these wheels unless you mean the //M wheel like I run now:

Mine are actually Italian made replicas and also very light (7,5j all around). They also made these (the Italian replicas) in 18 inch which is super rare.
Not selling these ever!

A good 5 spoke wheel in 17inch in a similar style is the e46 like this:

Quite easy to find and should look great in shadow chrome to bring out the curves more.

That 2.8 is good price and nice spec, too many will be put off by replacing the bonnet (which in fact is very easy with two people) so probably will take ages to sell..

@Dino D got a link for the replicas :D? Would be interested to see how much they were.

No longer available new...!

You can find secondhand M wheels but you need 4 fronts (the M rear is very wide and low offset so can fit but will poke a lot unless you lower it a lot, I can’t go any lower so ditched the idea)

Darn it!
I'll have a look one day, not something I can afford to do anytime soon anyway.

Yep, definitely not a one man job. I usually do it with 3 of us because of the damage that can occur if it slips. Probably a 20 minute off and back on job. Then another 20 minutes potentially fiddling with the bonnet catch to get it to hit the striker plate properly.

The main issue with bonnets is moving them around as they won't fit in anything less than a Transit van.

Sooo, tempting when I have that superb bonnet just sitting there... but I'll have to resist it.

buy it, fit the bonnet, move it on for £2k, scrap the old bonnet.

Little earner and think of the space it will free up getting rid of a bonnet!

Go on, you know you need to!

To my way of thinking it's worth around £3k (plus maybe), never mind £2k!

Of course there could be hidden reasons why it's being sold at that price...

Why do you have to put temptation in front of me
If I had room, I would most likely be going to look at it.

I might contact you in the near future about the bonnet though as mine has been involved with an argument with some hail and looks like someone has been bouncing a ball on it :(
If I do this, I'm most likely going to be after some arctic silver wide body rear wings, rear bumper, sills and anything else I need for wide body conversion.

@mrscalex Thanks for the Montreal wings, I'm just waiting to get some sills sorted before fitting and painting these on my Blue Zed

Chrome Gills and original roll over hoops! What's not to like! Might even have a hard top mounting kit fitted!

Skint is often a reason cars are sold!

Yep tried to fit one a Galaxy and it won’t go, hired a van to collect one. Now have a dented one in the back garden...might need to enlist @GazHyde with his angle grinder to get rid of it!

Go see it with no more than £1k cash in hand, if it’s not too shabby he’ll probably take it. You’ll get a peach of an engine (but will need a suspension refresh to really exploit it!)
