So the hose for my wireless diesel smoke tester end broke off the hose so emailed the company that does of mot site maintenance so they emailed me back with cost for the new hose .

So can you guess the cost of said hose

It's going to be a bog standard bit o pipe costing about 1.50 in materials but it gets unrolled and precisely measured on a posh bench by a bloke in a white coat with letters after his name. Said bloke then puts a sticker on it and issues a calibration certificate.

Got an idea how to maybe sort it as £367 is just daylight robbery

That's what we did, and because it's for a smoke meter, which pumps the gas in the metering head it doesn't have to under go a daily vacuum leak down test like the petrol emission tester.
