A pleasure to introduce myself. :). Recently acquired 1999 Z, neglected somewhat but tidy. Now the fun starts... There is no gun to head smiley available, or I would insert one here.. " "... I'm looking forward to meeting you all...

Hi and welcome from Derby, UK. Quite a few of us are ex MX5 owners, great little sports cars, but in the UK with our 'damp' climate the Mk 1 and 2 MX5 s rusted while you watched them!

Ooh, that looks rather tidy! Straight panels, great wheels that fill the arches and personalised number plate - and summer coming
The wheels look good but I don't really like the way they roll, too bumpy and flighty, if you can imagine what I mean to say..
275 30 20's rear 245 30 20's front, a hint of inner guard rub drivers front if driving aggressively.. But I'm still getting used to this car, wonderful little machine it is.. Love the purr of a straight six.. However if my wipers are on, I intend to turn right, If the top is up its raining, If its raining and I appear intent on turning right, there is a strong possibility I can't see where I'm going..

Yes 20" wheels are pushing it somewhat, need a little more air and rubber between the rim and road. A nicely kept looking zed though.

Do you get to meet up with other owners, guess distances are a problem.
I have the wheels it originally had, so I can tyre them and chuck em on, these rims on it are worth half of what I paid for the whole car, so its all good. They are near new, and any Holden owner would love em, if that's their thing.. Further to that the roads here are very ordinary and in the tropics, you need a stepladder to mount the curb sometimes, careful with doors or just park in the middle of street...:)
Yes distances are a problem, I have only ever seen 1 other and its a 4 I keep my eye out though now I have one, there could be more that I have not noticed. But for me to be looking out for other Z's, my wife would have to drive...

I think you will get a lot of pleasure from that Zed. With your climate does it have aircon?
If you have 'local' car club meets that may be a way of coming across other Zeds, probably more 4's though.
Out of curiosity what make of wheels are they?
Yes it has aircon, that works. However It's retirement requires the top never be put up...;).. The wheels are Lenso Project D wheels... No gutter rash, yet ...... Project A thru C shouldn't worry me, should it ?...
