Hi everyone,

Sadly I'm having to say goodbye to my 1997 Z3 1.9L Roadster.
Currently having issues around getting power to the starter and according to BMW the issue might be due to a faulty immobilizer.

With the lack of space and family growing is no longer viable for me to spend the time needed to get it back running.

kills me to see it going but I would be happy to pass it on to a Z3 lover like me and hopefully see it running again and enjoying lots of more miles.
If anyone wants or know someone that would like a project please feel free to contact.

Thanks & Happy miles.

If its the oem immobiliser it might be simple enough to have the EWS function coded out of the ECU. This is often done when swapping e36 engines into e30s. I've used a guy in Sheffield a few times who will take the ecu through the post and send it back once complete. Could be a plug and play fix and might help you get a better price. From memory I think I was about 100£ to have the ews removed.

Thanks for the tip. I’m still inclined to find a new home for him, I won’t have the space or time to dedicate.

Where is the immobilizer located on a 1997 1.9 Z3? I am not getting any power to my dash or starter. New battery and power to the positive jump start bolt under the bonnet/hood. In splitting the ignition key I do not find any electronics for an immobilizer.
