I have noticed that my boot lid has gone a bit stiff when opening it. You really have to push it up now!
Can you repair the two hinge things or do I have to replace them?

Sounds as though one or both of the spring struts have died.

Disconnect both gas struts from the lid and see how it works then. If it's stiff the hinges have partially seized (not uncommon). If it's free the it is the gas strut(s) that are faulty.

Tony.

Just in case you don't know this Paul, to get the struts off, put a small screwdriver in the little slot at the end in the plastic socket and lever the locking wedge outwards. Don't take them all the way out. Can do some pics tomorrow if you need them.

Tony.
