Now that I'm not working anymore, I can do some of the things that I could never do because I couldn't get off work. One of these is an affair at my old high school that's held every year. I went to Father Judge High School in northeast Philly. They have an event where several of the local restaurants and pubs are represented at the school and for the price of admission, you can go to a dinner and sample all the different varieties of food or drink they serve. It's always on a Saturday night and I could never get off from working at the casino because it's the busiest night of the week. So tonight, I'll go up to Philly and attend. Might see some of my old classmates although we're stating to thin out. I was the class of '68 which means in two years I'll have my 50 year anniversary of graduation. Be nice to take the Z to an affair like that. Frankie

Hope you have a great time. I've never been to any kind of school reunion

Have a great evening out Frankie and show off your Zed

Hope you have a ball mate, enjoy. Are you staying over or driving home late?

Tony.

Nice reason for a road trip Frankie! You should have a great time catching up. I didn't graduate until 1994 so unlikely to see a 50 yr reunion!! lol. JIM

Was that in the sex industry Frankie? :D
I had received a degree in Finance in college and had worked for a supermarket for 10 years where I had done ordering for stock. I had applied for the position of Supply Officer in the US Navy. When I was growing up, we had no money because of my father's illness so I had learned how to fix everything in the house when it broke from the washer and dryer to the gas heater, the family cars, plumbing and electrical in the house and so many other things. I was constantly reading repair manuals on appliances to learn what to do because we couldn't afford to have a repair man come to the house, which had a charge in itself, let alone an actual repair bill. I had to take a comprehensive test for the Navy first which included test questions in science and engineering. They graded the test as soon as I was done. When looking at the results, they asked me if I was going for engineering, I said no. Then they asked if worked as an engineer. I said no. Then they asked me if I had a degree in engineering. I said to them that all I was applying for was supply officer, why all the questions? They said that in the science and engineering section, that engineers out of school scored about a 45 out of a perfect 55. Working engineers got between 47 to 49. I said so what's that got to do with me? I'm going for supply officer. They said I scored a 53. I had missed two questions on hydraulics. While I knew enough to fix the brakes in the car, I never had the time to think about the physics of it. They wanted to send me to the school for operating a nuclear reactor on aircraft carriers and subs. I still wanted to go for supply officer. I went for the physical and failed because of my eyesight. I found out years later that for that job, I could have gotten a waiver.
I was thinking about this while I was walking the dogs this morning and realized I wouldn't have met my wife had I done this. My life with her is so happy that this more that compensates for everything else. So.............no regrets when all is said and done. Frankie

Frankie, all it hapens in our life is met to happens. There are no choices even it seems so. You do what you have to do. Bad or good. What is bad today , you will discover tomorrow it was good and opposite some times.
And on the other hand did you really preffered to lay around a nuclear reactor? It's scary only when you say it!....
Enjoy a long-long retirement, close to your lady, friends and Zeds!
We like you as you are!
Dan

Very, very true Frankie. Things happen the way they do and it's easy to be thinking what if. You know the story of why we like to go to Florida and how it came to be.

Tony.

Right there tony. I'm sure we can all go back and find a point or two where we zigged instead of zagged but we wouldn't be who we are today without them. You've got a great life @FRANKIE And worked hard for it so now enjoy the time you have with your loving wife and pets!! JIM
