I know there’s lots of info here about the rear window but I’ve not been able to find an answer. My rear window is original but still in good condition, no hazing/cracking etc. But the black bead that the fabric tucks under has split and started to come away in two long strips. I’m looking for either a recommendation on what glue to use to put it back in place, or otherwise if someone knows what plastic/rubber the black bead is made of so I can do some research? It doesn’t get driven in rain at all so this is just a cosmetic fix, won’t need to be waterproof. I still have PTSD from replacing the rear window on my last Z3 so no plans to do that again until absolutely necessary!!

I also used edge protector strips in a pc build. You can buy different styles to suit your project, lots of stuff out there.

I replaced the plastic window a couple of years ago, the replacement kit came with some "weak" two sided tape which was not fully up to the task of keeping the the piece covering the zipper sealed, especially at the corners. There are better quality 2 sided tapes available which may work better than the product which was included with the replacement window I purchased. To fix the problem I purchased some adhesive recommended on the Roadster Solutions website here in the states, I applied it last year and it has held up fine.
