Gentle reminder

Thanks for the kick up the arse Hugh! It's so important to be checked. I was checked last year when I got taken in and it was fine. I turn 45 in February and I've just been booked in by my hospital consultant as part of course. As already said much better to have a minute of discomfort than years of illness or worse. Keep well Hugh.

Bet you loved every minute of it......:D
Joking aside, I am sure that Hugh posted on here a while back that there is a non evasive method for the check up?
There is Mike, blood tests.

Glad your getting better Hugh , I think positive thinking goes a long way in making a good recovery, and knowing you i'm sure you have that in bucket loads.see you soon mate [are you coming to the E.A.C christmas party]

Well said Hugh @miller1098
There is always lots of talk about us women getting checks for all sorts but it's just as important for you men.
So all you men of a certain age get checked, that's an order lol
Glad your on the road to recovery Hugh, look forward to catching up with yourself and Sara soon :)

Great news Hugh, I will pass it on to Frankie later just in case he has missed your post today. Hope the ribs heal as quickly as possible, I remember my old mum fell and cracked a couple years ago and she had a lot of severe discomfort. Keep well mate, all the best.

Tony and Shirl.

So glad to hear your OK Hugh, it sounds like you have been through some very difficult times. Just in case you were wondering, we have missed you on here. We thought you might have given up the Zed and bought an MX5.

Mike & Sandy

@miller1098 , your ears must have been burning earlier Hugh. Frankie and I were telling Martin of some of exploits and having some laughs along the way!

Tony.

Ribs will heal Hugh, but it will take 3weeks of pain when you breath and can't sleep on that side...
The other "issue" will be kept faraway by your wonderful positive attitude.
Be well soon and thanks for the spectacular pics!
Dan

Only you Maurice only you!

As I always follow a good advice, You have to know Hugh, that your post determined me to do the test that I long time postponed!
More than that I made a colonoscopie, because I had in the family colon cancer case.
After you do it , doesn't look so bad as imagined. You know the say: it's always a first time in everything!
Blood test and doctors says it's looking good, but I still have to wait for some biopsies they took, for safety.
So, thank you Hugh!
Dan

things like this, 1 in 8 and having unpleasant treatments and all the effort put in by our nhs etc, do put things into place, i dreaded the camera up the bum, and follow up treatment, but well worth it, good luck with your recovery!

Having had my life turned upside down at the hands of this nasty indiscriminate disease and knowing how most of us blokes are when it comes to getting stuff checked out I think "gentle reminders" are exactly what we all need to remember we are all responsible for staying fit and healthy.

Thanks for this post @miller1098... my contribution to this are "WALNUTS" (organic preferably) ... if you like them chaps eat them! In fact there are so many things us blokes can eat too give ourselves better odds.

It's also worth remembering that our fantastic NHS saves thousands of lives every year administering some truly amazing modern treatments.
They have saved my life.

Hope your road to full recovery is a short one @miller1098. Best wishes.
