As far as I am aware the smaller engined cars, 1.9, 2.0 and 2.2 use a Getrag gearbox, whereas the larger cars 2.8, 3.0 and 3.2 use a ZF. So no, they aren't all the same.

The split by manufacturer/basic gearbox type and engine size is correct I believe.

But eg 1.9s have a different variation within this to the 2.2s.

According to Bentley manual, Z3 1.9, 2.3 and 2.5 used Getrag S5D 250 G boxes, Z3 2.8, 3.0 and 3.2 (M) used ZF S5D 320 Z. Remembering of course that this manual is written for the USA market cars.
