Hi all,
Looking for advise help please. i am sure some of you have changed.
My gear top emblem badge looks a little tired .Its gone grey and faded but the gear knob is ok. My question is i have seen some new emblems on E bay .All stick on type which is fine but they are all listed E46 or E36 none under Z3 and they look round mine looks more oval.?
Is this just illusion and will the ones advertised fit. Most 5 speed tend to have the M logo which is fine.
Many thanks in advance.

Tracy, I think you will find it's an illusion. I bought one a few years back (before upgrading to Storm Motorwerks knob) and I had the same thought. Fitted fine though when I got it :)

It was a few years back now I'm afraid, but I'm pretty sure they will all fit. Anything from an E46 3 series should be fine as that's the same era as the Z3.

Shouldn't that be E36 Gaz. I thought the Z3 was classed as an E36/7 ?

Tony.

Nothing special about them, will pretty much be from anything with a BMW badge from the 90's onwards. Just wanted to give Tracey a specific model to search for that would suffice.

Hi Tracy
Its Ebay item number 201419456223, Site states price as £8.99 but there invoice states £7.88.
I see from the photo of your car its got roll bars. Just finished fitting a XS Power bar to mine with out all the right bits, bit of a pain, but got there in the end, looks good.
I see you are in Hertfordshire, my son works there and we used to live not that many miles from you in Theydon Bois, Essex.

Many thanks for emblem number on Ebay
Yes it came with roll over bars never seen any like them before as we are trying to get a wind deflector but none seem to go with the roll over bars they are probably a 90s after market item.
Look like it won't take a wind stop not unless ones made or someone makes a custom fit one.
Still colder weathers coming so won't be many roof off days left this year.
Not to many members Broxbourne Hertfordshire way unfortunately would be nice to meet up locally for a change.
Many thanks again.

Do you have two separate bars or two hoops joined together ?
Looking around various sites recently I think that I have seen for sale wind stops for both types, next time that I come across them I will make a note and pass it on incase it is what you need.

Yours are more of a rounded type of roll bar if i remember correctly Tracy from your pics.
The cheapest and easiest way would be to make a template and make one to fit out of a sheet of perspex.
A local window company may be of assistance unless you feel handy with a jigsaw !

Some of the details that I sent you are for your type of bar, it should not be a problem, if in doubt send the supplier a pic of your bars first.
